Pleasing 'palette' needed for Arts Commission of the Pikes Peak

A volunteer resident and a practicing artist are needed to fill openings on the Art Commission of the Pikes Peak Region.

Applicants should have an interest in public art and an awareness of the public art that resides in the Pikes Peak region.

Duties of the commission include:

*Coordinating a program to promote art in public places.

*Making recommendations about donations for the purchase of public art.

*Coordinating art displays in public buildings.

*Participating in the Art on the Street Program.

*Encouraging public/private partnerships to enhance public art.

*Supporting the expansion of public art in visible sites throughout the community.

*Maintaining public art inventory.

Letters of interest and resumes should be sent to Art Commission of the Pikes Peak Region, C/O Mary-K. Burnett, P.O. Box 1572 MC 1603, Colorado Springs, CO 80901-1575. The deadline to apply is Aug. 17
