Money Management Letter has selected the winners of its Sixth Annual Public Pension Fund Awards, which recognize plans, consultants, marketers and asset management firms that have made significant impacts on the industry in 2006.
The winners included Peter Gilbert, CIO of the Pennsylvania State Employees Retirement System, Lifetime Achievement Award; the Ontario Teachers Pension Plan, Savviest Public Plan of the Year; the San Francisco Employees Retirement System, Large Public Plan of the Year; the Philadelphia Public Employees Retirement System, Medium Public Plan of the Year; the Tulare County Employees Retirement Association, Small Public Plan of the Year; Peter Keliuotis, senior consultant at Strategic Investment Solutions, Public Plan Consultant of the Year; Brandywine Global Investment Management, Bond Manager of the Year; Fidelity Investments, Equity Manager of the Year; First Reserve Corp., Alternative Manager of the Year; and Jack Gastler, senior vice president of marketing and client services at Acadian Asset Management, Public Plan Marketer of the Year.
Publisher's Technology Awards were given to: Technology in Public Pension Funds, Industry Choice Awards; Kurt Lehmann, chief technology officer of the Texas Employees Retirement System, Technology Innovation of the Year; the Teachers Retirement System of Georgia, Technology & Solutions Implementation of the Year; Brown Brothers Harriman, Technology & Solutions Implementation of the Year - Systems Integrator; and Kathy George, senior manager of PERS technology at Maximus, Technology Consultant of the Year.
