El Paso County seeking engineer for board of review

The El Paso County Board of Commissioners is seeking an engineer representative to serve on the Board of Review for a three-year term. Applications for the position are due March 1.

The Board of Review consists of five members appointed by the County Commissioners and/or the Colorado Springs City Council for three-year terms. Terms are limited to two full consecutive terms.

The board is authorized to propose standards and interpretations of the building code; to grant or deny minor variances to code; to grant, suspend or revoke contractor licenses; and impose restrictions or requirements of contractors. The board is comprised of an architect, resident-at-large, building contractor (A or B license), building contractor (A, B or C licensed), and engineer (structural, electrical or mechanical).

Applicants are asked to reference which position they want to represent and include a mailing address and daytime phone number.
