Long Island Plumbers Union selects East Islip-based Impact Management
Long Island Business News, Nov 26, 2004 by Adina Genn
The Long Island Plumbers Union Local #200 has selected East Islip- based Impact Management to develop a new software system that will enable the union to more effectively support its membership.
Impact, started in 1991 and with 15 employees today, will consolidate the union's documentation and move it from a paper-based system to one based on electronic transactions. As a result, the union will be a more agile organization, said Impact CEO Pat Esposito.
The move will eliminate the pain of the traditional paper chase, said Jim Garity, director of logistics systems at Impact, whose other customers include J. D'Addario & Co., JPMorgan Chase and Verizon.
Currently, the union serves more than 75 contract companies collectively employing hundreds of plumbers in the area.
