Age Requirements Lowered for Flu Shot Clinics

Flu season is just around the corner. Protect yourself, your family, your co-workers and your community by getting a flu shot! The annual Health Fair 11 Flu Fighter Clinics make vaccinations both convenient and affordable. Flu shots will be offered at all Minnesota Cub Foods locations starting October 10th.

New this year!

Beginning this fall, nurses will vaccinate anyone age five and older. The decision to lower the minimum age was made in response to the unexpected deaths of six Minnesotan children in February of this year. At Flu Fighter Clinics, minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. For a complete list of vaccination criteria, visit www.mvna.org .

Vaccinations are administered by registered nurses with the Minnesota Visiting Nurse Agency (MVNA), a nonprofit organization. The cost for a flu shot is just $25. MVNA uses all the proceeds from the Flu Fighter Clinics to support health care nursing services for disadvantaged families in the community.

Flu shots are available for a discounted rate of $25 with payments by cash or check. MVNA accepts most Minnesota-based HMOs and major health plans, including Health Partners, Humana, MCHA, Medica*, Medicare Part B, MHP, MN Health Care Programs, UCare, Unicare and others; please bring insurance card and vouchers. *Check www.mvna.org for additional details.
