Momentum Opens New Toronto Data Center

Momentum Advanced Solutions Inc. (TSX: WWW), ("Momentum"), a leader in the emerging world of Internet outsourcing, is pleased to announce the opening of its new high-density Toronto data center. The 19,000 sq. ft standalone facility is currently conditioned for 8,000 sq. ft of raised floor and has expansion capacity for up to 12,000 sq. ft. At full capacity, the new Internet data center can accommodate approximately 500 cabinet equivalents giving Momentum, when combined with its Markham data center, a total capacity of approximately 725 cabinet equivalents.

According to Tier1Research, North American demand for outsourced data center space has increased by 15% over the last twelve months while during the same period, supply increased by a modest 6%.

Tier1Research has identified three primary drivers for this increase in demand. The first is that regulatory compliance is serving as a catalyst for enterprises to maintain business continuity. Second, is that rising power and cooling requirements associated with high-density computing has rendered many existing data centers obsolete. The third driver is simply a function of the continued growth in Internet applications and content serving both businesses and consumers alike.

"Demand for high density, secure, outsourced data center space in Canada appears to be quite strong, while the barriers to entry remain quite high", stated Sheldon Pollack, CEO of Momentum. The new data center has been specifically designed to be highly secure and capable of powering and cooling the latest in "high density", Blade technologies. As demand dictates, it is expected that the new facility will accommodate power density of 300 watts per square foot. Other features of the data center will include:

- 30" Raised Floor to allow for maximum airflow

- Biometric security with man-trap

- Secure and gated driveway entrance

- Dual Path internal power grids

- Parallel UPS with diesel generator backup

- Office space with meeting rooms, cafeteria, etc.

- Diverse fibre from four telecom providers

- 2N Power distribution.

- Close proximity to hydro substation.

- 10,000 litre diesel storage capacity
