Telcordia today announced that it will present on the role of mechanical splicing in the deployment of fiber-to-the-premise (FTTP) at OSP EXPO 2007, being held August 28 - 30 at McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California. Ernie Gallo, director, Operations and Transformation Solutions, Telcordia, will co-present Technical Requirements for Mechanical Splices during the advanced seminar, Fiber Optic Cable Management in the OSP.
The rapidly increasing deployments of FTTP network architectures are paving the way for the rollout of the most advanced business and residential services. FTTP installation methods, however, must evolve to conform to the conditions at the customer premise. Gallo will review operation and use of mechanical splices and conduct a demonstration that will help service providers determine if they are currently prepared to deliver FTTP in extreme conditions.
Telcordia has significant experience in enabling the rollout of FTTP architectures, including maintaining an active role in FTTP standards organizations, demonstrated thought leadership around services and architectures, and authorship of Generic Requirements for FTTP applications. This experience, combined with deep systems integration knowledge, certified testing facilities and world-class professional services, strongly position Telcordia as an FTTP market leader.
OSP EXPO 2007 will bring together OSP professionals from the ILEC, IOC, and CLEC communities serving the converging telecom industry. For more information, visit www.ospmag.com/expo .
