These beautiful coffee-table books are the early volumes in DBP's "Life, Myth and Art" series. Each one is lavishly illustrated with full-colour photographs and decorative designs. In each case the text is subordinate to the illustrations, but it is readable and informative enough. These are not academic books, nor even particularly scholarly ones, but they are lovely to look at or to give as a present. At under 20 [pounds sterling] they are pretty good value, and it would certainly be very nice to own the whole series.
