The Hallowed Eve

Folklore,  April, 2000  by Leila Dudley Edwards

These criticisms aside, The Hallowed Eve is a useful folklore collection full of colourful detail and interesting accounts of contemporary practices. Readers who expect a detailed academic treatise on the relationship of politics and custom in Northern Ireland may be disappointed, but the book will[ be enjoyed by many for its vivid and evocative accounts of contemporary Halloween celebration in Northern Ireland.
