'Green' Bible published

National Catholic Reporter,  Oct 26, 2007

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Christian Publishing giant Thomas Nelson Inc. has released what it says is the first-ever "green" Bible. The Charles F. Stanley Life Principles Daffy Bible uses paper certified by the Forest Stewardship Council and includes a council logo on its packaging.

From the forest to the paper mill to the printer, every stage of production meets council standards for sustainability, said Katie Miller, spokeswoman for the Forest Stewardship Council. The green Bible follows the latest Harry Potter book in going green, she said.

Charles F. Stanley is the longtime pastor of the First Baptist Church of Atlanta, and host of the "InTouch Ministries" television broadcast.
