According to the FBI, the average age of a rapist is 19. Consequently, says Lt. Britton, young people must be educated about rape starting in elementary school. "We must teach our young men and women that rape is a crime of violence and it will not be tolerated in this society; women should be respected," she says.
"If we can teach our children that, I believe we can make a great impact on rape."
