The road to recovery

Ebony,  Nov, 2006

Editor's Note: The first Black mayor of Moss Point, Miss., was incorrectly identified in the article, "The Road To Recovery Along The Gulf Coast" (Sept. 2006). The first Black mayor was Louis Jackson, who was elected in 1985 to 1993, and served again from 1997 to 2001. Ira Polk, the second Black mayor, served from 1993 to 1997.

The current mayor, Xavier Bishop, is the third Black mayor.
