Black college queens

Ebony,  June, 2006

In the feature, "Black College Queens" (April 2006), Shayna Y. Rudd, the campus queen at Howard University, was not included. The Philadelphia native, who hopes for a career in the arts, is involved with the Howard University Student Association, Howard University Gospel Choir, H.U. Bisonettes, and she serves as Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.'s Mid-Atlantic District Miss Black and Gold.

She's also involved with Project Testimonies, a District of Columbia-based youth program that strives to inspire youth to succeed, regardless of their circumstances. In that capacity, she teaches journalism and life skills to participants who are 13 to 18 years old.
