After the hurricanes

I'm writing in response to the article "After the Hurricanes: Opening Hearts & Homes to the Evacuees" (Dec. 2005). I was so excited to hear that the people from hurricanes Katrina and Rita were taken care of after all the things they went through. People from different communities came out to help the fallen victims. Many people took people into their homes and others donated homes to displaced families. Also, volunteers through local churches helped people to find housing and long-term jobs.

Another reason why I think this is a moving article is that this really shows how families and the community stick together in order to make good come from this tragedy.

This magazine article really moved me, and I just hope that many other people step up and help aid in this crisis.
