Raising the bar: transform an everday look into a signature statement

One indication of a dapper gentleman is a man who gets fully dressed in the morning, complete with a freshly ironed shirt, luxurious tie and a throwback from yesteryear--the tie bar. That single piece of jewelry makes a more impressive fashion statement than a pair of cuff links. It looks smart, provides a bit of flashiness, and it holds the tie in place. Also, it's placement provides a bit of variety. For a vintage, '50s feel, position it higher, perhaps one-third the way down from the knot. For a stylish alternative, consider wearing the tie bar diagonally. Translation: Have fun wearing one of the few items still meant for your jewelry box.
