'85 (Atria, $14.95), Danny Simmons, the older brother of hip-hop businessman Russell Simmons, renders a graphic novel about Crow, the drug addicted son of a deceased police officer living in New York City around 1985. The fantasy-like tale, illustrated by Floyd Hughes, follows Crow through the labyrinthian world of sex, drugs and the worship at the altar of cold, hard cash. Simmons is a painter, poet, novelist and philanthropist. He also is co-owner of two art galleries, Rush Arts in New York's Chelsea area and Corridor Gallery in Brooklyn.
