Patent leather & lovely

Ebony,  Dec, 2007  by Eunice W. Johnson

Glossy patent leather has been on the fashion scene for decades, but it is no longer just for shoes--for little girls or churchgoing women. And today's patent leather is not necessarily your mother's. This season, patent leather is making a strong statement in coats, dresses, skirts, jackets, gloves, hats, belts and handbags. And, of course, in shoes and boots. The trend has been evolving for several years, but this season, the durable and well-loved shiny leather is taking center stage as the focal point of designer collections. This versatile skin also is showing up in various colors and textures, such as snakeskin and crocodile. So, pull out those cherished accessories from the closet and add new ones as you perk up your wardrobe with the shine of patent leather.
