Sharon D. Williams is senior vice president of communications resources at Disney-ABC Television Group in Los Angeles. In her position, she coordinates efforts by the communications support divisions that assist the cable channels and the broadcast network. Williams joined ABC in 1997 as head of broadcast publicity, eventually adding day-to-day media relations for ABC Entertainment to her portfolio. Before joining ABC, she was part of the executive team that launched the United Paramount Network (UPN) in 1993. She also spent six years at Columbia Pictures Television and Sony Pictures Entertainment, where she worked as a series publicist and as vice president of corporate communications. Williams received a bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of California at Santa Cruz. She and her husband, Earl J. Williams Jr., have two children, Earl III, 12, and Camryn, 5.
EARL JONES
REGIONAL VICE PRESIDENT OF CLEAR
CHANNEL RADIO'S CHICAGO MARKET
Earl Jones, a former cornerback for the Atlanta Falcons, is regional vice president of Clear Channel Radio's Chicago market. He is responsible for Chicago's seven stations, including WGCI-FM (107.5), and several stations in Wisconsin. Jones worked most recently as regional vice president of the company's Louisville radio cluster. "The Chicago-area features some of the greatest radio stations in the country" Jones says of his new appointment. "I am eager to work with the very talented group of operators there and am excited about the opportunities ahead of me." A 20-year veteran of the broadcast industry, Jones joined Clear Channel Radio in 1998 as director of sports marketing in Atlanta. During his career, Jones has also worked for stations in the Detroit and Washington, D.C., markets. He received a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Norfolk State University. He and his wife, Dolores Jones, have three children, including two daughters, Darrell and Alex, and a son, Malin.
LEONARD B. DIXON
PRESIDENT OF THE NATIONAL
JUVENILE DETENTION ASSOCIATION
Leonard B. Dixon is the first African-American president of the National Juvenile Detention Association (NJDA), which represents over 570 juvenile facilities nationally, and over 100,000 youths annually. He is the director of Michigan's Bureau of Juvenile Justice and a nationally recognized authority on delinquent residential care, case management and juvenile detention services. He is active in the community, serving as a member of a variety of organizations, including the Standards Committee for the American Correctional Association. He serves on the board of directors for the Michigan Juvenile Detention Association and the Juvenile Delinquency Guidelines Committee for the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges. Dixon received a bachelor's degree from Southwest Baptist University and a master's degree in child and youth care administration from Nova University. He and his wife, Adrian, reside in Woodhaven, Mich. He has two children, Rosalind and Joseph.
