Col. Frederick D. Gregory is the first Black deputy administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). He serves as chief operating officer for the agency and is responsible for directing and managing many of the programs and the day-to-day operations at NASA. Gregory, has a bachelor's degree from the United States Air Force Academy and a master's degree from George Washington University.

He and his wife, Barbara, have two children and four grandchildren.
