9/11: one year later - Letters to the Editor - Letter to the Editor

I really enjoyed reading the article, "9/11: One Year Later" (Oct. 2002). The interviews with the families that lost loved ones on 9/11 brought tears to my eyes. I really did not know about too many African-American people perishing on 9/11. The media only portrayed the firefighters and the police officers.

I commend EBONY for doing a very good job, which included going out and getting the various interviews. It does show that African-Americans were affected by the terrible tragedy.
