Norman B. Anderson, Ph.D., is the chief executive officer of the American Psychological Association. As the chief administrator, Dr. Anderson manages and directs the 500 employees at the central office and supervises the business aspects of the association, which include operating one of the largest scientific publishing operations in the world, stock investments and interacting with private, state, and federal agencies and organizations.
A graduate of North Carolina Central University, he earned his master's and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Dr. Anderson lives with his wife, P. Elizabeth Anderson, a health and fitness writer, in Arlington, Va.
