Hil St. Soul featuring Hilary Mwelwa makes an impact of the music scene with COPASETIC & COOL (Shanachie Entertainment). The talented Zambia-born, London-reared singer and songwriter delivers wonderful performances throughout. (Her musical partner is writer and producer Victor Redwood Sawyer.) Especially catchy is the title jam, which features rap from MC Roots Manuva.

It is followed by the breezy, upbeat "All That (+Bag O'Chips)." Other uptempo grooves are the dance-floor jam "Alright" and the affirming "I've Got Me." Hilary's silky smooth vocals are reminiscent of Whitney Houston on the Isley Brothers' "For the Love of You." She describes her music as an "amalgamation of soul, R&B with hip-hop undertones, reflections of jazz, a bit of gospel, but mostly soulful." However you describe it, it is great music.
