Sisterspeak - Letters to the editor - Letter to the Editor

Ebony,  Sept, 2003  by Melody M. McDowell

I really love the Sisterspeak column. Lynn Norment speaks from the heart on issues that are so important to Black women. Her advice and words on commitment, relationships, friendship and other topics are so timely and right on. I find myself nodding in agreement as I read her words. Plus, the personal vignettes she adds to illustrate her points are so heartwarming.

Her nuggets of wisdom have added to my life as I've incorporated her counsel into my daily activities. I've tried to be more caring, more conscious of the way I project myself, and I've tried to examine my life through the Sisterspeak prism. And, prodded on by the words that resonate from her column, I have become a better Sister, friend, daughter, partner and an overall better person.
