I just finished reading the June 2003 issue of EBONY and as usual my hat is off to the staff for a fantastic job. I always read my EBONY from cover to cover. I want to personally thank Mr. Kevin Chappell for the great cover story "Bernie Mac TV Father Says Stop Coddling Our Children." I love Bernie Mac. He is the funniest man on TV. I agree with him 100 percent about raising children. I am from the old school and I believe children should respect adults--all adults!

I wish Bernie Mac continued success in his career, and may God bless him and his family.

I am so very proud of your magazine for putting my man Bernie Mac on the June 2003 cover. I liked it when Bernie Mac said he believes parenting is not about being best friends with your children, covering for them when they are wrong or giving them whatever they want. It's about respect. Children should respect their elders. And if it takes drastic measures to get that respect, then so be it.
