Common Vitamin C (ascorbic acid): Adults 1,000 mg 3-4 times
cold and daily; children: 200 mg 3 times daily. Mixed
influenza bioflavonoids: Adults: 500 mg with each dose of
(flu) vitamin C; children: 100 mg with each dose of vitamin
C. Zinc: Adults: 1 zinc gluconate lozenge containing
23 mg zinc 4-6 times daily; children: 10-15 mg zinc
daily.
Insomnia Valerian (Valeriana officinalis) standardized extract
containing 0.8 percent valeric acid: 300 mg 30 45
minutes before bedtime. Children's herbal tea for
sleep: Mix 1 part each of anise seed, chamomile
flowers and linden flowers with 1/2 part each of hops
and passionflower. Steep one teaspoon in a cup of
boiled water for 10 minutes. If necessary, sweeten
with fruit juice, stevia or honey.
